I have taken classes with Cynthia for over 10 years. I started as one who had never drawn or painted. Today my paintings are the sum of ideas I’ve assimilated through years of Cynthia’s careful instruction.I am a retired educator. Over half of my twenty five year career was spent as a school principal. I supervised hundreds of teachers. I know good teaching when I see it. Cynthia is an astonishing teacher with a natural gift for communicating the language of painting in the most transformative way. She weaves art history through her lessons and mystifies with her in-class demonstrations. She knows what it takes to create a good composition and gently nudges us to see possibilities. She encourages and nurtures. Instruction is based on what we want to communicate in our paintings. Her method gets results. Cynthia brings truth, compassion and fun to her delightful studio setting and creates a magical process of origination and invention. It is an inspiring experience to be in a classroom with her. ![]() Posted By: Linda Goldstein |
Cynthia... what can I say about Cynthia. I hate to say anything because I selfishly don't want to share her. Ha! Seriously tho... she has a way of bringing you to the next level and you don't even realize its happening! I look at the paintings I have done with Cynthia and can't believe I had anything to do with them. Sooooo if you want to rise to the level of expectation (and you will) Cynthia is your girl. So there!![]() Posted By: Cynthia Mozingo |
Cynthia helps us become better painters. She has an artist’s gentle way of enticing out our inner artist. She promotes courage and experimentation, “Try this.” No matter our level of experience creatively or technically, Cynthia is invested in our progress. By demonstrating on our canvases we all learn from each others struggles with paint on brush. This style of teaching, this lively painting group – this is exciting!![]() Posted By: Laura Hansen |
Cynthia Grilli is an exceptional teacher, mentor and artist. Her students receive undivided attention and their questions are always addressed. She is willing to share her knowledge and skill to help other artists develop better insights into the work they are doing. She has helped me to become a more thoughtful, careful painter. I feel that I see more clearly and apply the necessary steps to bring the ideas to culmination. Making art is a journey for the artist and it is wonderful to have such a guide as Cynthia to clear the path. Thank you Cynthia for your support and encouragement.![]() Posted By: Arleen Kaller I have studied both drawing and painting with Cynthia Grilli. |
